About This Project
Project Overview
The refurbishment of the toilets at His Majesty’s Car Park. Aurora needed to complete the project within the confines of a fully operational city car park with thousands of people passing the site every day. Good planning and public safety management was vital.
Contracted works included the demolition of all existing mechanical, hydraulics and electrical services; upgrade of base building existing switchboard, fire detection and mechanical services, including roof mounted upgrade; plus the installation of completely new in-ground hydraulics required the upgrading of new services to meet current building codes and architectural finishes.

The right way
Public isolation was continuously managed. With over 2,000 people walking past the site daily, there were strict site conditions to ensure all parties worked within a safe environment and the public was never in any harm. Upgrade services were shared amongst all joint tenants, so the upgrade needed to suit all parties and reduce the amount of inconvenience caused to the other tenants. Long lead-time materials such as the ceiling panels and the LED lights had an 8-week lead-time so these were ordered in the early stage of the project to meet the deadline.
