Project Overview
Refurbishment of the old Emporio Bar and Cafe presented many challenges due in part to the age of the existing fitout and the lack of available documentation. The site hadn’t been touched for 18 years. This required all services to be upgraded to meet current building regulations and standards, including adding more toilets for the capacity of the venue.
General works included complete strip out of the existing fitout; new mechanical and electrical services; upgraded hydraulic services to existing bars, kitchen and toilets; complete new fitout of bar, restaurant, kitchen, lounge, outdoor and wine bar to the Sherwood Court entrance; extensive joinery, and new custom designed furniture.

The right way
The location of the venue had strict residential and building management noise regulations. These constraints effected both time and cost, however, careful programming of the works minimised those delays and costs to the client.
Aurora’s expertise and advice was instrumental in resolving the venue’s various latent conditions, from re-selection of all the floor finishes, to resolving the existing condition of the floor slab, to the upgrade of the incoming poser supply to meet the needs of the new kitchen and equipment.
