Shane started out as a cabinetmaker, before moving into building luxury yachts and then finally into the world of commercial fitout and refurbishment.

He started Aurora on April Fools Day 2009. At the time, with the global financial crisis crashing down around him, he felt like the joke was on him, trying to start a business at the top end of a well-established market. But with a vision and a determination to deliver a better quality of commercial fitouts, Shane and the team have taken Aurora from strength to strength with a healthy year-on-year growth.

Aurora has been named in the Top 100 BRW Fast Starters in 2012 and 2013, while Shane was recently named Business News 40 Under 40 in 2015, is a member of the Australian Institute of Builders and runs an annual Toy Drive donating to various charities.
